Stamped or metered?

We've been enjoying our NF subscription, and I was returning a movie yesterday via the local post office where I was forced to choose between dropping the envelope in the "stamped" or "metered" mail slot. A postage-paid envelope seems like neither, or somewhere in between, if you ask me. I hedged my bet and broke the envelope in two, depositing one-half of a dvd in the stamped slot, and the other half in the metered slot.

Heh. Not really; but I should have because I would have been at least half right. Actually I slipped the envelope in the "stamped" slot, I guess just because it felt more familiar. I've never dabbled in the voodoo of metered mail. When I got home I googled a little on this subject to find out if I was right or wrong. The results were inconclusive. I found people that said NF envelopes are considered stamped mail, and others that said they are metered. In order to get a straight answer, I had to go to the top. So I emailed NF.

The conclusive reply came today. Kristen from Netflix Customer Service tells me: "Netflix envelopes are considered metered mail." So there you have it. Metered mail.
