TWC SUCK SUCK SUCKS!
Time wiener cable is the worst fucking company ever.
They have me paying $55 fucking dollars a month for shitty ass internet service.
Not only that but for the past 2 weeks their nameservers have been slower than fucking crap to resolve hostnames. I tried calling them and the moron I talked to was no fucking help at all. He couldn't even understand the fact that I had already narrowed down the issue to the time it takes to resolve a hostname, not necessarily to load a webpage. Then they send me a follow-up survey about the call. I give them negative marks across the board and apparently they don't fucking care-- haven't heard anything back.
WAKE UP TWC, YOUR DAYTON NAMESERVERS ARE FUCKING BROKEN OR OVERLOADED and you better fucking fix it fast because tomorrow I'm calling to cancel my service.
Bastards.
UPDATE: They claimed to have fixed my slow hostname resolving problem (bullshit) and given my lack of alternatives I let them cut my connection speed by 92% and in exchange they are cutting the bill by 50%.
In other news, I'm thinking of getting my own T1.
UPDATE2: I just about lost my voice from screaming at and about TWC/RR today. I went through level 1,2 and 3 tech support, and not one fucking person understood what the fuck I was talking about when I told them that their nameservers were being slow to resolve hostnames. I also found out that other RR subscribers are having the same thing. I let TWC schedule a truck roll for Monday to check the line. There is nothing wrong with the line, but if they want to send a truck out and waste their money and time, that's fine with me.
UPDATE3: I swear, next time I see an SBC service truck in my neighborhood, I'm going to stop and see if I can bribe the guy $100 or so to hook me up to the remote terminal so I can get speakeasy DSL. In the meantime I'm sidestepping the borked twc dns issue by using Earthlink Cable's dns instead. For anyone in the Western-Ohio Time Warner area using RoadRunner, if name resolution is slow as shit, try using these dns instead:
