I'm a freak!
I only ever use one of these two date formats: 2007-01-13 or 13 January 2007
I always write the time like: 18:44 and all my computers, pda, phones, webpages display it that way.
My computer and pda calenders are configured to begin the week on monday.
I measure things in meters, liters and grams whenever possible.
All of my thermometers display the temperature in celcius.
I don't adhere to english standards on capitalization and period positioning "like this".
I'm sure it's no surprise why I often feel like a foreigner here in the USA.
my quirks explained:
The date format thing comes from doing several years of webdev for a bunch of different international sites. I have come to prefer globally unambiguous date formats.
As for 24-hour time... I sleep at random times so I don't want to wake up and look at a clock and wonder if it is 9:00 in the morning or at night. I hate that. 9:00 or 21:00 is much easier.
My week starts on monday. At the end of the week I have fri. evening through sunday to chill or whatever. The idea that the week starts on sunday seems absurd. I want to see saturday and sunday next to each other on my calendar.
The american/imperial measurement system is idiotic, IMHO.
I like centigrade, whatever that means. Mostly, the rest of the world uses it and I don't see a downside, so why not?
Maybe I'm just silly, but I disagree with some english rules (you might even say quirks) on punctuation. The capitalization of random shit in english comes from german I believe, and I find it very unnatural.
