DSL installed tonight. Modem can't maintain sync for more than 20 sec at a time; not even long enough for me to get an IP.
The ISP's networking team is going to check it out and get back to me.

Maybe there is a kink in the phone line...... maybe the magic smoke escaped from my modem before I got it..... maybe my loop is still 22k+ ft...
