riots

This comparison was put forth in a recent issue of Time magazine.
Putting things into perspective:

France has suffered through several weeks of intense rioting which started in the Parisian suburbs and spread throughout the country. The rioters clashed with police and set fire to thousands of cars in streets across France.

In 1992, the city of Los Angeles saw six days or rioting as a result of the Rodney King case aquittal. During the riots, innocent people were beaten or shot and thousands of fires were set to cars and buildings.

During those six days in LA, 58 people were killed.

During two weeks of riots in France, one person was killed.
